What the future looks like in 10 years

In 30 years most of the would should socialist with automation devaluing workers. Obviously, Europe and Australia are already left-dominated, so that ship has sailed. Here in America, in just about every political poll, from taxes to drugs to minimum wage to gun control to war, the economy to climate change to immigration to just about any other political topic you can think of, liberals kick conservative’s asses, often by 75% / 25% splits.

The most interesting thing about the future is that with about 40kwatt of continuous energy available, you can provide luxury living for 10-20people depending on their waste levels. In other words, you can profit off of people's desires to vacation and spend on experiences or just living in comfort on a very small scale level... After the initial investment into solar panels, little gooseberry farm retreats and health spa experiences are going to be sweat little opulent retirement villages.

This effing world is freaking huge, all the resources are available to do almost anything, and tons of effing money is available to do things that work out and ALL these people that have money lack the time or the imagination to do anything with their money that is low risk (well vetted) and properly planned (details accounted for and the expenses thought through, so X amount of money gets to X profit)....

That's why I like being a VC...Nothing better than turning a bit of sand into a cellphone or semiconductor used in a cellphone or computer. High grade “sand” silicon is turned into crystal ingots and then into slices of silicon wafers, then they get photomasks while gases get turned into line traces and tiny structures that perform logic when electrons flow through them along the metal traces. What a racket, turning sand into gold ;)

What a world, makes me realize how good I am at playing with money... that thing I refused to do because I had too much intelligence and not enough humanity to care. And honestly money just zaps your growth/maturity level to that of a set of rules and no real understanding of the details beyond those rules you setup.

The existence we are seeing formed right now has the potential to be endless. We’re within grasp of DNA recoding and stasis coding on top of the animal DNA that formed us.

We’re going to have a few dozen versions of this “stasis” coding before it comes close to a continuum level of stabilization and the results will be interesting to see.

I see a lot of people getting sex from robots or living out their days in synthetic virtual environments. We’re within a decade of having computers capable of a synthetic virtual environment with DNA simulator for the animals in it, including the DNA of viruses and bacteria and fungi and all the mixing of codes that goes on... might take two decades to get a really good simulator close to Matrix level with all the details and energy flowing through it.
