Palata No. 6

High up there on the list of weirdest experiences in Kiev is the well hidden Palata No6 named after Anton Chekhov's story about life in a madhouse. And mad it certainly is. You will be greeted by bar tenders wearing doctors uniforms and waitresses dressed as sexy nurses. Order a drink and your medication will be administered as follows. Vodka and whiskey served in medical beakers. Other drinks squirted down your throat via giant syringes. This is a favourite with students because of cheap drink and food. You might need the help of a local to find this place as it is hidden away in a dark courtyard in a residential area just off Vorovskogo Street.
For a healthy dose of insanity sneak into this well-hidden bar named after Anton Chekhov's story about life in a madhouse. Dressed in doctors' white robes, stern-looking waiters nurse you with excellent steaks and pour vodka into your glass with giant syringes. A perfect cure for the maddening quotidian.
