The Palace of the Parliament

An impressive building on Arsenal Hill in Bucharest, it houses the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Romania.The building has about 1,000 rooms, of which 440 offices, over 30 halls and salons, four restaurants, three libraries, two underground car parks, and a concert hall. The largest building in Europe, it is also the second largest administrative building in the world, after the Pentagon in the United States, also the third biggest building in the world. Begun during the Communist regime (the "Golden Age" of Romania violently removed by the Revolution of 1989), the so-called Bucharest Project was an ambitious project of the Ceausescu couple started in 1978 as a replica of the city Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.
